Black Women and Intimacy – Voices From Across The Diaspora

by Therez Fleetwood

Black Women and Intimacy – Voices From Across the Diaspora chronicles the intimate lives of Black women in the 21st century. The book is a compilation of conversations with more than 50 Black women who span five generations. It is an impactful, emotional, uplifting and inspiring compilation of personal, one-on-one interviews that provide insight into Black women’s thoughts about love, relationships, communication, sex, intimacy, and much more. It is not a theoretical analysis of Black women overall, nor is it written to stereotype or categorize them in any way; instead, it provides a portal for Black women to express themselves freely as they discuss issues that are real and prevalent in their lives.

Black Women and Intimacy – Voices From Across the Diaspora is written so that Black men and women can take another step towards understanding each other and cultivating more intimacy within the Black community. It is written for Black women to find their self-awareness in other women’s stories and for those who are seeking to find their own voice of self-expression.
